Personal Projects
This section contains a variety of projects that I have made over the past 4 years.
Blue Romper
The first article of clothing I made was a blue romper. My goal was to learn how to sew and how to do some of the basic techniques such as put in darts. If I did it again I would tailor it more to my size and make it fit better after following the pattern.
Yellow Napkin Dress
The next article of clothing I made was a yellow napkin dress. My goal for this was to put the previous skills I learnt to use while also learning how to add an interlining and how to do a topstitch. If I did this again I would change the fabric to a more lightweight one to make it more flowy but overall I am happy with the way it turned out.
Crushed Velvet Jumpsuit
For my third project, I made a crushed velvet jumpsuit for a concert I was going to. My goal for this was to make something with an incorporated hidden zip and some sort of embellishment that made it stand out (the lace-up back). Overall I am happy with the way it fit. To improve this I would work on my time management skills, taking more time to ensure the stitches are as straight as possible as I was rushed to get it done nearer to the end.
Emerald Cocktail Dress
For my most recent project I made a cowl neck fitted green cocktail dress. This was made for a murder mystery themed party where we were all assigned a different role and was made by draping the material on a mannequin with my measurements. I am really happy with the cowl neckline of the dress and the golden straps. If I did this again i would take more care when sewing the skirt to make it more fitted and give it smoother seams.
